Everything you need to know before you hit the mat — policies, booking tips, and how to make the most of your time at The Move.

Arrive 15 minutes early so we can get you checked in, show you around, and help you feel at home before class begins. Every class at (the) Move is designed to help you feel strong, supported, and part of the community from the moment you walk in. Choose from a variety of class styles depending on what your body is craving that day — sculpt, strength, yoga, you name it. Our expert instructors bring intentional programming, great music, and supportive cues to help you move with confidence. Expect to sweat, have fun, and leave feeling like your strongest self.
Absolutely. Every class is designed for all experience levels — whether you’re brand new or a seasoned mover. Our instructors offer modifications and advancements so you can move at your own pace and feel confident every step of the way.
All you need to bring is yourself and a water bottle (available for purchase in-studio if you forget!) and a mat towel for our heated formats (available for rent).

Wear comfortable workout clothes you can move and sweat in. Most classes are taken barefoot — grip socks are totally welcome but not required. For Power Move (our strength-focused format), sneakers are an option if you prefer a little extra support.
Nope — we’ve got you covered. Mats, props, and sweat towels are all provided for every class. Just show up and we’ll take care of the rest!

For safety, cleanliness, and extra grip during sweaty flows, mat towels are required in all formats. You’re welcome to bring your own or rent/purchase one in-studio.
Yes! A fresh sweat towel is included with every class.
Our heated formats are warmed to approximately 90°F — hot enough to unlock mobility and fire up strength, but never overwhelming. Power Move is not heated.

We offer a rolling 2-week booking window for members — with 24-hour early access compared to non-members.
For the fastest and most seamless booking experience, we encourage you to book through “Make the Move” mobile app (iOS + Android).

Yes! Download The Move app by searching “Make the Move Studio” in the App Store or Google Play.

Please arrive 10–15 minutes early so you can check in at the front desk, get set up with your equipment, and find your spot before class begins. We start right on time to give you the full experience!
If you’re driving, please allow a few extra minutes to park — there is 2-hour street parking nearby.
We allow a 3-minute grace period after class begins. After that, late entry isn’t permitted for safety reasons — and your spot may be released to someone on the waitlist once class is underway. If you’re running late but still on your way, please give us a call so we know you’re coming and can help if we’re able!

We have memberships for every mover — from unlimited monthly access to class packs. Explore options here.

The Founding Membership rates are locked in based on the tier you choose at sign-up. If you ever wanted to change tiers in the future, it would be at our regular pricing at that time.
To cancel, please contact us at least 7 days prior to your next billing date. Cancellations will be processed at the end of your selected contract term (3 or 6 months).
If you wish to cancel before your contract is complete, an additional month will be billed as an early-termination fee.

Students, teachers, and healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, etc.) receive 10% off memberships and class packs. Just bring valid ID to the studio or email proof of eligibility to have the discount applied.
This does not apply to intro offers.
Yes, memberships renew monthly unless paused or canceled in advance.
Not at this time. Classes refresh each month and do not roll over.

All waitlist actions can be managed directly in our app, Make the Move. In the app, you can easily add yourself to a waitlist or remove yourself if your plans change.
If a spot opens up, you’ll be automatically added to class and notified by email or text up to 2 hours before class starts.
If you no longer plan to attend, please be sure to remove yourself from the waitlist in the app to avoid late-cancel or no-show fees.
You’re also welcome to come to the studio and wait in person. If a reserved spot isn’t claimed at the start of class, we’ll move waitlisted guests in based on waitlist order. While a spot isn’t guaranteed, we’ll always do our best to get you moving with us
We have a 10-hour cancellation window for all classes.
- Late cancellations (within 10 hours of class): $15 fee
- No-shows: $20 fee + loss of class credit
These policies help ensure that anyone on the waitlist has a fair chance to move into class!
Please note: While the app may indicate that your credit is forfeited when you late cancel, credits cannot be automatically returned by the system. Our team will manually return your class credit within 24 hours for late cancellations.

Class credits are non-refundable. That said, we totally get that life happens. If something unexpected comes up, just reach out and we’ll do our best to help.
You’ll be notified immediately and your credit will be returned to your account.

There’s 2-hour street parking available around the studio, and we’re just a few blocks from Bluebike stations for easy biking access as well as the Orange Line!
You can safely store your belongings in one of our secure lockers.

Students must be 18 years or older to attend class. Students under 18 will need a guardians signature to attend class.
Yes –– we encourage you to always check with your doctor first, and be sure to let your instructor know before class so we can offer the right options for you. And remember — you know your body best. Move in the way that feels good and safe for you.
Please communicate with your instructor any injuries before class begins so we can offer safe modifications throughout class.
